I took a walk by Bulls Bridge today with my camera. Although the leaves aren't out yet, the views are spectacular! I love it there, yet often forget how beautiful it is. A great trip for the family, and the cost is zero!
Enjoy my slide show, these are a few pictures I took today.

Merwinsville Hotel, a night at the Opera

MERWINSVILLE HOTEL, GAYLORDSVILLE, CT
March 21, 2009. 7:30 pm. The Merwinsville Hotel is hosting an evening of opera to benefit the hotel restoration. Zoe Vandermeer will perform her own “Zoe’s Musical Fairy Tale, Upon A Time”. Timothy Alexandre Wallace will narrate and accompany on keyboard. Wine and Cheese to follow the performance. Seating is limited, it is suggested to call for reservations.
The Merwinsville Hotel has some interesting events throughout the year. I would highly recommend you check their calendar of events and make a trip up there. A piece of our local history that is certainly well worth preserving. Located in Gaylordsville, CT, the hotel was a meal and train stop in the late 1800’s for the Housatonic Railroad. Take a moment to see what they are all about; I think you will like it.

Home Staging

Here in the north-western corner of Connecticut home staging has not caught on. I am not sure why though. Every time I mention that I am a realtor, people start talking about all those shows on TV about getting your home ready to sell. They LOVE those shows. Isn’t it amazing how different the before and after is, or comment how quickly the house sold after it was staged.
Now I don’t know about you, but for my money I would want to get those same results if I was selling my home. I would want to sell quickly and for the most money I could get, especially in this market. Yet not one person I know of here has hired a qualified professional to stage their home.
Why? I am not sure. People in other parts of Connecticut are doing it, and seeing results! Don’t believe me? Why not? You believe the TV shows.
Enough said?
